Menon urges progressive forces to stand united

The Workers Party of Bangladesh president, Rashed Khan Menon, on Wednesday called on all progressive political forces to stand united to establish a democratic system in the country.
Referring to the December 29 national elections, Menon said the people were waiting eagerly to exercise their franchise to form a democratic government.
Menon, nominated by the alliance led by the Awami League to contest the polls for the Dhaka 8 constituency, was exchanging views with the leaders and actiists of Ward 35 and its associate organisations in the Dhaka District Sports Association auditorium.
Chaired by the ward Awami League president, Abul Kashem, the meeting was also addressed by Nasirul Islam Mallick, Golam Ashraf Talukder and Zahidul Islam Tipu.
Menon also exchanged views with the workers and employees of Holy Family Hospital and the Ramna branch of Proshika.
